New exciting collaboration

Youwell AS and Noklus (Norwegian Quality Improvement of Laboratory Investigations) have entered into a partnership to develop a self-registration tool, with the aim of improving communication between patient and practitioner in the training program for self-monitoring of anticoagulation treatment. This agreement marks a significant step towards the development of digital tools that will strengthen health monitoring and patient care.

Background and needs

The National Health and Hospital Plan emphasizes the importance of utilizing technological opportunities to create a sustainable health service: "A sustainable health service requires that we make use of the opportunities that technology provides, use the skills of the employees as best as possible and solve the tasks as efficiently as possible."

Health technology gives patients with chronic diseases the opportunity to be more independent, and patients who take more responsibility for their own treatment will gain an increased understanding and knowledge of their own illness. Norwegian studies have shown that self-monitoring of anticoagulation treatment improves treatment quality and increases patients' quality of life compared to conventional treatment.

"The introduction of a secure and user-friendly registration tool is essential for safe

communication between patient and practitioner," says Inger Ravndal, academic coordinator for

self-control at Noklus.

"We greatly appreciate the collaboration with Youwell in the development of digital solutions that will contribute to a more flexible and sustainable offer for patients. By offering such health technology, more patients will experience increased mastery, freedom and control over their chronic illness."

The collaboration with Noklus

Youwell AS and Noklus have entered into a collaboration to develop an advanced registration tool for reporting self-measurements and dosages. This tool will be integrated into the Youwell platform and offer a wide range of features, including messaging, video consultations, questionnaires, modular courses, quizzes and more.

Functions in the registration tool

The new registration tool will be user-friendly and contain functions that help patients keep track of their INR measurements and medication. Patients will be able to set targets for the desired INR level, which contributes to increased personal motivation and follow-up. In addition, they will be able to register changes in other medication and add comments. All registrations are displayed in both graph and table format, so that patients can easily follow the development over time.

The system will also include functionality for setting threshold values and flagging, with automatic notification to handlers if necessary. Healthcare personnel will have access to the patient's records via a clear display, which will facilitate comprehensive and tailored follow-up.

"This collaboration represents a major step forward for patients who participate in the self-monitoring program for anticoagulation treatment," says Øyvind Grimsgaard, CEO of Youwell. "By giving patients a clear overview of their records and a better understanding of their state of health, we can reduce the risk of complications and ensure a more precise and customized medication. This tool will not only improve health follow-up, but also give patients greater security and control over own treatment," he concludes.
