We are finally getting started with UngMeistring, a four-year project with the aim of increasing access to mental health services for young people through digital technology. Eight digital online and game-based self-help and treatment programs for young people will be built on our platform. The project is led by Helse Bergen Hf and the consortium includes, among others, Helse Stavanger Hf , Helse Fonna and the Directorate of Health .

This week the table was set for the opening of UngMeistring. Several of the partners gathered to get information about the start-up and the way forward.

UngMeistring is a new project in Forhelse in collaboration with several partners. The project's main goal is to develop and evaluate eight digital online and game-based self-help and treatment programs for young people between the ages of 13 and 18. These programs will deal with four diagnoses; eating disorders, anxiety, ADHD and depression.

The project was awarded NOK 25 million from the Research Council of Norway under the Pilot Health programme. Through its DigiUng project, the Directorate of Health has provided additional funds, and is a partner in the project. The project is managed by Helse Bergen and Kristin Bruvik is the project manager.

UngMeistring has an interdisciplinary and broad set of partners:

  1. Health Bergen HF

  2. Health Fonna HF

  3. Health Stavanger HF

  4. The University Hospital of Northern Norway HF

  5. The Directorate of Health

  6. Health West ICT

  7. Hospital purchases

  8. The University of Bergen

  9. Bømlo municipality

  10. Attention

  11. Youwell

  12. SkillUp AS

Project manager Kristin Bruvik was very satisfied with the day;

It was nice to see so much commitment from the partners. This project will challenge new aspects of online processing that we do not know the answer to, among other things related to how to take care of privacy for young people who do not have a bank ID, says Bruvik.

According to Bruvik, there has been a sharp increase in the last two years in the need for mental health services for young people.

It will be interesting to work with user involvement to understand the needs of the young people we want to help. In the project, we will link technology and professional content in a way that engages the young people and has a positive health effect. We will focus both on digital platforms such as ung.no where young people can find help on their own, we will work with the municipalities to strengthen their offer to young people, and we will strengthen the specialist health services with digital tools that can help more people more effectively, says ho.

The opening seminar was characterized by a committed and competent group with a large expertise in various fields. The project will include clinicians from BUP services, business partners with experience in developing digital health programs and representatives from both primary and specialist health services.
