After 3 years of close and good cooperation between Youwell, Helse Bergen and the NFR-funded ICT lighthouse project INTROMAT, we are now starting to see results. During these 3 years, we have created a digital platform (www.youwell.no) which makes it very quick to create:
new training program, treatment program or rehabilitation program
individually adapted training program
tailored user experiences
tailored mobile apps
The digital platform is also approved as a patient record and runs in the cloud. This means that new organizations can immediately set up their own secure patient portal.
As of today, we are working on developing digital training programs and treatment programs together with INTROMAT/Helse Bergen/UiB and Helse Fonna. Our first available digital training program is aimed at people who have residual cognitive symptoms after depression. According to Aftenposten, 395,000 have significant problems with anxiety or depression at any time and half get depression again.
Many people who have received treatment for depression still struggle to function in everyday life due to difficulties with remembering, getting started on tasks and concentrating. These are called residual cognitive symptoms.
In the Internet-based self-help program RestDep, developed in the ICT lighthouse project INTROMAT by PhD fellow at the University of Bergen Sunniva Brurok Myklebost (picture), participants get the opportunity to learn about and master cognitive residual symptoms in a new way. The RestDep training program consists of 10 modules. The program lasts for 5 weeks. The content of the training program consists of texts, videos and exercises. Everyone who participates in the program has a supervisor. All the supervisors in RestDep are either psychologists or psychology students under the supervision of a psychologist specialist.
Our experience from similar programs via the internet shows that the more you work with the program, the better effect you will have. It is therefore important to us that the program should be easy to use.
RestDep is available on the digital platform Youwell.
According to the head of the research on the effects of RestDep, PhD scholar Sunniva Brurok Myklebost, the advantage of Youwell is that therapists themselves can enter and edit content in the program. Questionnaire data can also be collected through this solution in a secure manner.
The participants have so far given positive feedback about the use of the program. The program is available on PC, mobile and tablet.
The effect of RestDep is now being investigated and the hope is to be able to publish the findings in spring 2020.
