Rest Dept

RestDep is a coping program for those who experience residual cognitive symptoms following a bout of depression.

SOLUTION Coping program for residual cognitive symptoms after depression RestDep is a training program whose purpose is to increase coping with residual symptoms after depression. Having cognitive difficulties is a burden in itself. Cognitive difficulties after depression are extra heavy when both you and those around you have an expectation that you should function as you did before the depression.

There is little follow-up and help for residual cognitive symptoms, therefore the team at RestDep has developed a coping program for those who experience residual cognitive symptoms following a depression. RestDep is a module-based program. ABOUT RestDep The RestDep training program consists of 10 modules. The program lasts 5 weeks and participants receive two modules a week (Monday and Tuesday).

SUPPORT FROM THE SUPERVISOR

Everyone who participates in the program has a supervisor. All the supervisors in RestDep are either psychologists or psychology students under the supervision of a psychologist specialist. The supervisor's role is to support the participants and help them in their work with the mastery programme. The participant and the supervisor have weekly virtual contact.

MASTER THE COGNITIVE DIFFICULTIES

Texts, video, exercises, reflection tasks, facilitation in everyday life and good advice for mastering the cognitive difficulties.

DEVELOPED BY

The intervention has been developed by PhD scholar Sunniva Myklebost, supervisor/researcher Åse Hammar and supervisor/project manager Tine Nordgreen in collaboration with former patients. Youwell has developed the platform and a web app aimed at patients in close collaboration with health researchers. RestDep was developed under the auspices of INTROMAT at Helse Bergen.
