Joint innovation projects for research and industry

ForHelse and Youwell logos

The Research Centre for Digital Mental Health Services (ForHelse) and Youwell have collaborated on developing health apps for mental health difficulties in the population. Today's challenges in mental health are significant, and we need new tools in treatment. But developing digital tools that are genuinely useful and effective requires collaboration.

ForHelse aims to increase the use and benefit of safe, evidence-based mental health services through digital technology. The research centre consists of externally funded, multi-year research and innovation projects working closely with national and international partners across academia, industry, health services, and user organisations. Youwell has been a technology partner for several years, and a range of solutions are now coming to fruition.

The research centre defines the need for health tools together with its health service partners and user organisations. The centre develops, tests, and evaluates the results of the digital treatment, based on data collected on the Youwell platform. Researchers lead the clinical work together with clinicians, and involve user participation in the ongoing development of the programme.

The digital health services are being developed for children, young people, and adults, through collaborative projects between ForHelse and a range of health service partners.
