Youwell in the Nordics and Europe: lessons from Berlin, Gothenburg and Copenhagen

In spring 2026, Youwell attended three major digital health conferences in Europe: DMEA in Berlin, Vitalis in Gothenburg and HIMSS26 European in Copenhagen. Here is what we are taking home.

DMEA in Berlin

Youwell spent a week in Berlin at DMEA - Connecting Digital Healthcare, as part of a market entry programme funded by Germany Trade & Invest. Some highlights:

Innovation Norway gave an introduction to what it takes to succeed in Germany: technology must reduce costs. Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin showed how they work systematically and with a clear direction to adopt AI. And FHIR is not just theory: the standard is in use, and it enables an ecosystem of state-of-the-art solutions that work together.

Vitalis in Gothenburg

The health tech landscape is developing at a remarkable pace. From 4 to 7 May, Youwell was at Vitalis in Gothenburg, on the Norwegian pavilion organised by Norway Health Tech. Halfway through the conference we had three takeaways: we have discussed collaboration constellations we had not thought of before, we were once again reminded how important it is that solutions work together, and we are impressed by the drive and perseverance in the industry. Thank you to Norway Health Tech for a fantastic set-up around the Norwegian pavilion.

HIMSS26 in Copenhagen

Youwell also took part in the HIMSS26 European Conference & Exhibition in Copenhagen, one of Europe's leading digital health gatherings. The European Health Data Space (EHDS) was high on the agenda: how information is to flow across national borders, and what that means in terms of requirements and opportunities. There was also a strong focus on what it actually takes to succeed with digital transformation, not only technology but culture and leadership, and on practical, real scenarios where AI can deliver its full potential.

Three exciting days and many good conversations with companies, customers and other players have inspired us and made us ready for further work in Denmark.
